The Old Country Church is hosted by Brian Vargas and begins airing October 1, 2023 from 7am-10am. The Old Country Church is like coffee for the soul. It will feature the best of older and newer gospel. Brian says, “When I was a kid, I grew up cutting my teeth on the backs of pews and clapping along to the music being sung from the red back hymnals. This instilled a love for music, more importantly Southern Gospel.” Brian is a retired Army veteran and has served in both the active and reserve components. He has sang bass for southern gospel quartets and has worked previously for AM 950 WAKM. Brian works full time in emergency medical services at a county 911 service. He serves as the station’s Program Director and is Co-Owner of BearXM. Married to his best friend, Luis, they reside on their farm in Tennessee, where among other things they raise goats and chickens and his husband runs a welding service.
